General Home Inspection

This will be our thorough, in depth, visual examination of all structural and operating components performed by a state licensed home inspector. Ranging anywhere from 2-3 hours onsite and then all information is then typed up into a full report that you will receive the same day. We will go over all our findings on site and answer any questions or concerns you have. This part of the process is key, because with Nagel Home Inspections we want you walking away with a complete understanding of what we find along with our reccomendations moving forward. While some inspectors might only advise to find a qualified professional to remedy the issue, we aim to advise you direclty on what’s involved. That is what sets us apart from many and gives us a better sense of satisfaction that we are saving our clients significant time during the buying process.

Radon Testing

Your health and safety are our number one priority, and when it comes to radon you must get professional answers. Coming in as one of the top 3 leading causes of lung cancer, radon exposure can also result in several serious health issues. Although some think older homes and buildings are more likely to fall victim to radon problems, newer structures are also at high risk. Not only is Erik licensed with The State Of Ohio for radon monitoring and testing, but we are so proud to say we have partnered with Northeast Ohio’s specialized Testing and Mitigating team at RadonEliminator to provide you with the most qualified professionals to keep you safe and your process moving along smoothly from start to finish.

Mold/Air Quality Testing

The presence of mold in a home can cause serious health and structural concerns. The effects of mold spores have been known to cause serious health issues to children and those with weaker immune systems. Knowing the air quality in a home can be very important whether you are buying a new home or have mold concerns in a property you already own. As an independent home inspection company, we can provide this as an ancillary service to our clients and don’t have any affiliation with mold remediation companies. We will deliver to you a detailed lab analysis from a fully accredited lab, which will identify from the air and or surface samples we submit, if mold is present and what type of spores are inside the home.

Wood-Destroying Insect Inspection

Termites, carpenter ants, and other wood-eating organisms can be very destructive to a home and sometimes even lead to serious structural issues. We are fully trained and certified to inspect for these types of wood-destroying insects. We can also provide you with an NPMA-33 completed form which is often required for VA and FHA loans. The home will be thoroughly examined for any wood-destroying insects, including termites, carpenter ants, carpenter bees, and powder post beetles. After my inspection, you will receive an NPMA-33 pest report.

Thermal Imaging

Nagel Home Inspections takes pride in using the latest technology. With that said, we are very excited to offer infrared thermal imaging to our customers. Using thermal imaging technology, we can help you minimize risk by uncovering safety and structural issues. Infrared thermal imaging utilizes state-of-the-art technology to uncover hidden problems and gives us the edge in finding problems that cannot be seen with the naked eye.

Asbestos Testing

Although asbestos can be safe as a building component in an intact condition, it can become dangerous if its fibers are airborne. These fibers can lodge themselves in people’s lungs and be the cause of several lung diseases, including lung cancer and mesothelioma. With that being said, it is very important to have your home tested for asbestos before wanting to perform any renovations or demolitions. We can perform an asbestos test and make sure that it does not pose a danger to your home and the people inside of it.
